Test your Visualization Skills

Audio-guided visualization exercise

Precaution: Audio recording is not recommended for listening if you are feeling sleepy, dizzy, suffer from certain mental illnesses, or are under the influence of alcohol or other substances. It may cause headache, slight deceleration or distortion in movement, hypersensitivity to sound and light. Please do not drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after listening to the audio recording. When in doubt, always consult your doctor.

This is an audio-guided visualization exercise designed to take you through different levels of employing senses whilst reaching your subconscious and intuitive faculties. You may choose to use this exercise to test your ability to visualize or use it to practice your visualization skills.

Instructions:

To get the most out of this exercise all you have to do is listen to the voice guiding you, visualize or imagine along, and perform the action internally, where required whilst focusing on the visual image with your mental eyes.

You may employ your imagination, intuition, senses, or internal projection. Surrendering to your senses is the key - keep your focus on what you experience whilst visualizing. Become an observer without the need to analyze, critique, force, or try to remember anything particular.

Upon seeing yourself completing a visualized action, you are invited to allow your subconscious to generate all sensations whilst seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling, or even just knowing. Allow your analytical mind to take a break for the duration of the exercise and let the impressions come to you naturally. Allow yourself to experience.

Normally, certain sensations appear vague, whilst others are more vivid. In case you do not experience a particular sensation at all whilst visualizing, you may wish to pay attention to that sense as you go along with your daily life, by simply becoming aware of what it feels like to you personally (e.g. whilst eating, close your eyes and capture the sensation of chewing food).

This exercise is suitable for repetition - allowing the visualization process and experience to become more vivid. It can appear easier to fully perceive the sensation that was less active the first time.
